Bra Size Conversion Chart
The same body wears a different label in every country. Here is how band numbers and cup letters convert between the US, UK, EU, French, Australian and Japanese systems.
Last reviewed on 28 April 2026.
Bra sizing systems disagree on two things: how to number the band and how to letter the cup. The US and UK measure the band in inches; the EU, France and Japan measure it in centimeters; Australia uses a small even-numbered scale. Cup letters agree up to D, then each system goes its own way. The tables below convert each part. To convert a single size instantly, use the interactive converter on the home page.
Band size conversion
Band numbers line up row by row — the same physical band, relabelled. The US and UK share the inch number; the EU and Japan use the centimeter equivalent; France adds 15 to the EU number; Australia counts in twos.
| US | UK | EU | FR | AU | JP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 28 | 28 | 60 | 75 | 6 | 60 |
| 30 | 30 | 65 | 80 | 8 | 65 |
| 32 | 32 | 70 | 85 | 10 | 70 |
| 34 | 34 | 75 | 90 | 12 | 75 |

| 38 | 38 | 85 | 100 | 16 | 85 |
| 40 | 40 | 90 | 105 | 18 | 90 |
| 42 | 42 | 95 | 110 | 20 | 95 |
| 44 | 44 | 100 | 115 | 22 | 100 |

Cup size conversion
Cups match through D. From DD upward the systems split: the US keeps doubling letters (DD, DDD), the UK inserts single letters (E, F, FF, G), and the EU, French and Japanese systems run a clean single-letter sequence.
| US | UK | EU | FR | AU | JP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AA | AA | AA | AA | AA | AA |
| A | A | A | A | A | A |
| B | B | B | B | B | B |
| C | C | C | C | C | C |
| D | D | D | D | D | D |
| DD | DD | E | E | DD | E |
| DDD / F | E | F | F | E | F |
| G | F | G | G | F | G |
| H | FF | H | H | FF | H |
Cup conversions above D are approximate. Brands implement the upper letters inconsistently, so always treat a converted size as a starting point and try it on.
Worked examples
- US 34C → UK 34C · EU 75C · FR 90C · AU 12C · JP 75C. Up to C, only the band number changes. See the 34C guide.
- US 36DD → UK 36DD · EU 80E · FR 95E · AU 16DD · JP 80E. The cup shifts because the EU/JP scale has no DD. See the 36DD guide.
- US 38DDD → UK 38E · EU 85F · FR 100F · AU 18E · JP 85F. This is where US and UK lettering visibly part ways. See the 38DDD guide.

What is a US 34D in UK sizing?
A US 34D is also 34D in the UK. Band numbers are identical between the US and UK, and the cup letters match up to and including D. They only diverge above D — for example a US DDD is a UK E.
How do I convert a US bra size to EU?
Convert the band by replacing the US inch number with its centimeter equivalent (32 to 70, 34 to 75, 36 to 80, and so on, in steps of 5). Keep the cup up to D, then shift up one letter from DD onward, since the EU scale has no DD (US DD equals EU E). A US 34DD is an EU 75E.
Why is my French bra size a bigger number?
French sizing uses the same centimeter idea as the EU but adds 15 to the band number. An EU 75 band is a French 90 band — the same physical size, a different label. The cups follow the EU lettering.
